Latest Rum Finds 9/27/13

RedRum stopped being sold in South Carolina about two years ago. Since it’s the only rum that Mrs. The Rum Trader will drink, I am always on the lookout for any old stock that I can find around town. Last week a friend told me that he had seen some RedRum at a liquor store near his home. Thursday I ventured out during my lunch hour to have a look.

What I found was a veritable treasure trove of discontinued and old stock rum. I was shocked to see that more than half of their selection of rum was out dated or no longer being produced. After speaking with the owner for a few minutes, I walked out with six (6) different bottles and a promise to be back. The owner also told me that his brother’s store, in the next town, probably has even more old stock/discontinued rums. I plan to contact the two owners and try to make a bulk purchase. It will help them move some product and allow me to sample some rums that are no longer available.

Here are some photos I snapped with my mobile phone:

  • Bacardi Island Breeze
  • Admiral Nelson’s Raspberry
  • Cruzan Junkanu Citrus Slash
  • Beachcomber Flavored
  • Cohete Guahana
  • Ron Medellin Anejo 3 Years
  • Old Havana Brand Cuban Style
  • Guaro
  • Nu Nui
  • Grand Havana
  • Governor General
  • Cruzan Orange (Old Style Label)
