This Chairman’s Reserve Master’s Selection barrel was carefully selected by Spiribam Fine Rum Specialists. Fermented from molasses and distilled in 2000 on the St. Lucia Distillers John Dore 1 still, this rare masterpiece was then tropically aged for 19 years in ex-Bourbon barrels.

Distillation: John Dore 1, double retort pot still
Raw material: molasses
Maturation: 19 years in ex-Bourbon
ABV: 53.1%
Distilled: 2000
Bottled: 2019
Bottles: 341
No sugar added

Chairman’s Reserve Rum was first blended in 1999 by the then Chairman of St. Lucia Distillers, Laurie Barnard. His philosophy on blending was revolutionary using not only various age statements and barrel types, but also distillates from both sugarcane juice and molasses, and from a variety of different stills. The Chairman’s Reserve Master’s Selection series explores some of those separate components before blending, and each barrel is chosen by expert palates in the rum industry.
