A taste of the tropics is about to take over Midtown Reno. Rum Sugar Lime plans to open on Feb. 28, bringing a “tropically inspired, contemporary cocktail bar” to 1039 S. Virginia St.
The bar calls those three ingredients the “Holy Trinity of tropical drinks. Nearly all tropical cocktail recipes are some spin on these three ingredients.”
For RSL, the means daiquiris and more Caribbean cocktails making the menu.
The bar joins Under the Rose Brewing Co., which plans to open a second microbrewery specializing in German and Belgium brews and a tasting room. Right now, porters in chocolate rye and chocolate peppermint beer make some of the seasonal taps at the original location at 559 E. Fourth St.
Owner Scott Emond tells the Reno Gazette Journal that this location plans to focus on nano-brewing, experimental batches that may include “sours, fruited, spiced, honeyed” and other small batches of beers.
The renovated building plans to feature five tenants on the ground floor, Downtown Reno Makeover reports. “Each tenant facing Virginia Street will have a open-air patio space with roll-up doors.”
