Simple cocktails are best for evaluating a rum and it doesn’t get more simple than a traditional daiquiri. Three ingredients: rum, lime, sugar. Most rums are not intended to be consumed neat so a quick cocktail like a daiquiri are the perfect complement to many rums. Tweek the recipe slightly gives you a plethora of other cocktails including a mojito, ti punch, caipirinha, etc. In the video below, Tails of the Cocktail demonstrates how to make two versions of a daiquiri. You can substitute almost any rum into this recipe. In this video they chose to use Bacardi rums.
Ingredients:
2 oz. Bacardà Ocho or Bacardà Superior
1 oz. fresh lime juice
1 oz. simple syrup
Directions:
Shake with ice and serve up or on the rocks.
