Ugh.
Diageo’s Captain Morgan recently announced their latest special release “rum-based spirit drink”, Captain Morgan Tiki Mango & Pineapple. Much like many of their recent special editions, the bottling’s extremely low 25% ABV means it is no longer considered to be rum; it is a liqueur.
This artificially flavored release will only be sold in the UK, Czech Republic and parts of Germany. IMHO, this is a blatant attempt by Diageo to capitalize on Tiki’s revival.
This follows Captain Morgan’s special release of it’s Summer Edition Orange Vanilla Twist liqueur.
Remember readers, just because something is a limited/special release, and comes in a unique bottle, it does not mean you should buy it. I refer you to many of the other Captain Morgan special releases: Cannon Blast, Jack-O Blast, Loco Nut, Apple Smash, Watermelon Smash, Gingerbread.
