UPDATE (3/26/20) From Plantation:
From the far-fetched beaches of this dreamy archipelago, we are proud to unveil (from home) the first edition of our new Vintage Collection : the delicious Fiji 2005!
While Fijian rums typically blend pot and column still, our Fiji 2005 highlights the beauty and finesse of the column still, intensifying its complexity through long ageing in the tropical climate. The result is a rich Fiji Vintage that is an ode to the exquisite Fijian Islands.
Only 28 casks have been singled out for this edition from paradise by our Master Blender Alexandre Gabriel and Rum Co of Fiji’s Master Distiller Liam F. Costello. Per Plantation Rum’s signature, it then makes the voyage to the southwest of France where it is double-aged in French oak barrels.
*Due to the exceptional circumstances, our Fiji 2005 will be released as soon as we are all safe and healthy outside of our homes.
AN ODE TO THE BEAUTY OF THE FIJI ISLANDS
From PlantationRum.com:
From the pristine lagoons to the lush jungles, Plantation Isle of Fiji is an ode to the beauty of the Fiji Islands.
This delicious rum is made using traditional techniques and local Fijian sugar cane. First aged in this tropical climate in bourbon casks, the rum is then sailed to the southwest of France for a second maturation in French oak casks.
This double ageing method paired with Fijian know-how creates a rum with warm notes of exotic fruits and raisin.
