Today I was browsing through a Liquor.com article about “Leftover Libations” and I found a recipe on Liquor.com for a Maple Old Fashion.
I decided to dig out the ingredients and sample the drink.
Maple Old Fashion
Ingredients:
2 oz Dark rum
.5 oz Maple syrup
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
Glass: Cocktail
Preparation:
Add all the ingredients to a shaker and fill with ice. Shake, and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
I pulled out some Ron Rancado Black and some original Vermont maple syrup. I dashed in the Angostura bitters and gave them a quick shake and strain.
I really enjoyed the sweet syrup, bitter Angostura and the dark rum in the middle. The sweet/bitter mix was refreshing. Mrs. TheRumTrader said it reminded her of iced tea both in color and flavor. Enjoyable cocktail.
