The Fraternal Order Of Moai brings their annual summer Ohana: Luau By The Lake to their southernmost chapter with the first Ohana: Luau by the Sea. The festivities will take place Oct. 1-3 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The weekend will include a kickoff party at Fort Lauderdale’s Kreepy Tiki Bar & Lounge and the Miami Rum Festival organizers will host a “great rum challenge”. Ohana will include live bands at the host hotel and at the Mai Kai Polynesian restaurant, special happy hours, and the big final Ohana Luau on Saturday. To finish off the weekend, FWAYGO Rum is hosting a private tasting tour for Ohana guests on Sunday.

OnMilwaukee.com reports that a new tiki bar & restaurtant is on track to open soon in Milwaukee, WI. Wauwatiki will “include traditional rum-based tiki drinks, along with beer, wine and other cocktails. Panagos says the partners are also considering barreling and aging their own rum in house.” They are also planning a Polynesian theme menu that will include “a signature burger, wings (in flavors like Caribbean jerk), coconut shrimp and plantains.”
